Inside Segovia's walls a visitor gets one hour at the kerb, and the Plaza Mayor area is closed to cars that aren't authorised. Don't try to park up there.
My plan: leave the car under the Aqueduct at Acueducto Oriental, €3.80 the first hour, €29.95 for the day, and walk up. On a tight budget I'd park free on the Carretera de los Hoyos below the Alcázar and climb.
Parking in Segovia: Segovia's Aqueduct car parks and one-hour green zone
1. Stop at the walls
The Plaza Mayor and the streets round it, Juan Bravo, Infanta Isabel, Marqués del Arco and others, are pedestrian priority: residents and authorised vehicles only. A 2026 guide gives €80 for driving in without authorisation. Your satnav doesn't know that.
2. Park under the arches
Acueducto Oriental is Telpark's: 542 spaces, 2.10 m, open 24 hours, about 180 m from the Aqueduct. Telpark prints only two prices, €3.80 for the first hour and €29.95 for the day. Nothing in between is published, so for a full day I budget the cap.
3. Compare Parking Acueducto for short stops
Parking Acueducto, run by Parkia and called Acueducto Occidental on the city's list, is about 330 m away. A September 2026 guide gives €2 for 15 minutes, €3.30 for 45, €3.90 an hour; Parkia doesn't put its walk-up tariff online and no day cap is published. Height 2 m.
4. Know the upper-town garages
Catedral–Oblatas sits near the cathedral and Centro – Universidad about 700 m from the Aqueduct. Both are open 24 hours with a 2 m limit, and neither publishes a price. Roof box? Use Oriental.
5. Read the colour of the bay
The ORA charges Monday to Friday 09:30–14:00 and 16:30–20:00, Saturday 09:30–14:00. Blue bays outside the walls allow two hours; green bays inside allow non-residents one hour. RACE's 2022 table gave €1.00 an hour blue, €1.20 green; the city prints no current rate online, so read the meter. Pay by coin or the EasyPark app; the 2023 tourist-office sheet says the machines take no cards.
6. Check the ZBE status first
The high court annulled the walled town's low-emission zone in May 2025. A new ordinance was initially approved and published on 13 February 2026, and I found no final approval or start date. A foreign car has no DGT label and no published way to register, which is one more reason to stay outside the walls.
The trap here is the green zone: an hour isn't enough for the Alcázar, let alone lunch.

Towed in Segovia: Segovia's grúa: no published fee, so ring first
1. Ring the Policía Local
The tourist office's police sheet prints 921 431 212 and 921 466 720 under the Turismo de Segovia and Policía Local headings without saying which is which; 112 is for emergencies. They can tell you whether the grúa took the car.
2. Look near the bus station
The city publishes no pound address. A 2026 parking guide puts the municipal pound by the bus station, around Calle de los Barreros.
3. Expect a fee nobody prints
I found no current tow or storage fee online. The last figure I could find is €72.37 in OCU's 2012 survey, and prices have moved since. Add the €80 Plaza Mayor fine if that's what got you towed.
When a city won't print its tow price, I don't test it.
If your car has disappeared
- Who took it
- The Policía Local enforces parking and calls the municipal grúa. The city publishes no current tow or storage fee that I could find; the last figure I found is €72.37 in OCU's 2012 survey
- Phone
- Policía Local or Turismo de Segovia: the tourist office's police sheet prints both numbers under both headings: 921 431 212
The other number on the same sheet (Policía Local or tourist office): 921 466 720
Emergency: 112 - Collect it at
- Not published by the city. A 2026 parking guide says the municipal pound is by the bus station, around Calle de los Barreros. Ring the Policía Local first.
- Hours
- Not published.
- What it costs
- Current tow and storage fees not published online. OCU's 2012 survey: €72.37. Driving into the Plaza Mayor pedestrian-priority area without authorisation: €80, according to a 2026 guide.
- Bring
- The city lists nothing for visitors. I would bring my driving licence, passport, the car's papers or hire agreement, and a card.
EV charging in Segovia: Two sockets and a promise under Padre Claret
1. Ask at Acueducto Oriental
Telpark lists electric charging at Acueducto Oriental, but not how many points or what they cost. Ask at the barrier before you rely on it.
2. Don't count on level -2
Electromaps lists two 7.36 kW sockets, no fast charging, on level -2 at Avenida Padre Claret 6. Users describe a household socket on a column, often blocked by cars that aren't charging.
3. Arrive with range
I found no city charger map. A 7 kW socket adds little during a three-hour visit, so I'd charge before Segovia, not in it.
Segovia is a town for arriving full.
Where to charge
- Acueducto Oriental (Telpark) — Acueducto Oriental, open 24 hours. Telpark lists charging as a service; number of points and price not published
- Parking Acueducto Segovia-01 (Electromaps) — Listed at Avenida Padre Claret 6, level -2. Two sockets, 7.36 kW, no fast charging; price not listed. Users say it's a household-type socket on a column and hard to find
Free parking in Segovia: Free parking on the Hoyos road and at San Lorenzo
1. Park below the Alcázar
Two guides list free parking along the Carretera de los Hoyos and on the esplanade by the Fuencisla sanctuary. The walk up to the Alcázar or cathedral is steep. Against Oriental's €29.95 cap, that's €29.95 saved.
2. Try the velodrome car park
San Lorenzo – Velódromo is listed by the tourist office as an unsupervised car park. A 2026 guide says there's no meter and puts it about 600 m from the Aqueduct.
3. Use the streets round the bus station
The same guide says Paseo Ezequiel González is blue zone but the streets behind it, such as Calle de los Barreros, aren't. Five minutes to the arches.
4. Come on Sunday
The ORA is free on Saturday afternoon, Sunday and holidays. Segovia has no official park and ride that I could find, and the AVE station's Saba car park is 6 km out with no price on its page. From Madrid, I'd drive straight into town.
Sunday morning on the Hoyos road is the cheapest Segovia gets.
Free or nearly-free spots
Carretera de los Hoyos, below the Alcázar
Two guides list free parking along the Carretera de los Hoyos and the esplanade by the Fuencisla sanctuary. The walk up to the Alcázar or the cathedral is steep.
San Lorenzo – Velódromo, Calle Cardenal Zúñiga
The tourist office's police sheet lists it as an unsupervised car park; a 2026 guide says there is no meter and puts it about 600 m from the Aqueduct.
Streets round the bus station
A 2026 guide says Paseo Ezequiel González is blue zone but the streets around the bus station, such as Calle de los Barreros, are not; five minutes on foot to the arches.
Every ORA bay on Sundays and holidays
The ORA charges Monday to Friday and Saturday morning only. Saturday afternoon, Sunday and holidays are free; the time limits do not apply then either, according to two guides.
⚠ The small print on 'free' parking
- ZBE: the walled town's low-emission zone was annulled by the Castile and León high court (TSJCyL), announced on 21 May 2025, because it wasn't in the city's mobility plan. A new ordinance was initially approved and published in the provincial bulletin on 13 February 2026; I found no final approval or start date. A September 2026 check by Tyremap says it is not in force.
- If the new ZBE copies the annulled one, it covers about 130 streets inside the walls, Monday to Thursday 07:00–20:00, Friday, Saturday and holiday eves 07:00–23:00, Sunday 10:00–20:00, with a €200 fine. No procedure for foreign plates was published; a foreign car has no DGT label.
- The Plaza Mayor and the streets round it (Infanta Isabel, Herrería, Marqués del Arco, Isabel la Católica, Daoiz, Juan Bravo) are pedestrian priority, residents and authorised vehicles only. A 2026 guide gives €80 for entering without authorisation. If your hotel has a garage inside, ask reception before you drive in.
- Vehicles over 3,500 kg may not park in any ORA bay, so motorhomes belong outside the zone. After your ORA time runs out, a 2026 guide says you can't park again in the same area for four hours.
- Kerb ticket machines took coins, the ORA prepaid card or the EasyPark app, not bank cards, according to the tourist office's 2023 sheet.
- From the AVE station, guides disagree on the city bus: one says line 7 (€1.40 single), another lines 11 and 12. Check the stop; a taxi is about €12 according to one guide.
